EUROSTOXX - TRUMP pushes for a 50% tariff on Europe.
Today, May 23, 2025, the Trump announcement triggered a mini-crash of 3.3% in the EUROSTOXX Index. The decline from the top of May 21 at 573.65 spanned 3.7% and followed my forecast of a short-term correction as published in my Chart Outlook of May 19, 2025. The forecast and the updated charts are shown below.
The low of today’s decline was registered at the parallel uptrend channel support line. From here, the STOXX has two options.
1) It could resume the uptrend to new highs and trigger new BUY signals if the resistances at 566-569-574 are broken.
2) Today’s short-term decline was the start of a medium-term decline or long-term downtrend. SELL signals would be triggered with the break of the supports at 554.50 to 552.50 and 550 to 548.50. A break of 548 would signal lower targets at 535, 511-505 or 477 or 440.
